Coventry Volunteer Fire Association, Inc                                                                           Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes                                                                                        August 14, 2011     Meeting called to order by L.Bragdon 19:10 hours Pledge of Allegiance said by Membership Secretaries Report: Posted Motion: J.M.Carilli 2nd J.Hill to accept Secretaries Report Motion: Carried Treasurer’s Report:     Beginning Baslance: $14,618.53     Ending Balance: $38,632.26 Assistant Treasurer’s Report:     Junior Fund: No Activity: Balance:$263.89     Shattered Dreams: No Activity: Balance: $332.58     Fireman’s Fund: Beginning Balance: $2,116.29                                 Ending Balance $2,469.29 Fundraiser Account: Beginning Balance: $2,742.04                                    Ending Balance: $1,626.22 Chief’s Report: Went over what is considered a legal crew for the ambulances: crew must be from CVFA I f members from other departments want to join crew it is okay, but initial crew must be comprised of CVFA personnel. Discussed Mutual Aid, Scene Size-Up Lt. Hoffman will be sending letters to parents of Junior Members to keep them informed of what activities, meetings and drills are coming up for Juniors Committee Reports: 75th Anniversary went well, approximately 500 people attended the event, parade went good, no injuries, muster was fun for all. ASM covered calls for the day. If any Members are interested in extra shirts please see the Chief, they are $10.00 each. All proceeds from the Anniversary Celebration are being given to CT Fallen Firefighters Memorial: approximately $1,600.00 so far to send. Membership Committee Minutes read by C.Grover Communications: Donations from 2 Aetna Employees totaling $142.10 Thank You from CT Fire Academy for participating in Graduation activities , and for inviting them to join parade and carnival. J.M.Carilli: 5 CVFA Juniors Graduated the Advanced Fire School class today, Congratulations to them. An ET was brought to the Graduation, would like to see Officers in the future and Junior Advisors attend Graduation, having representatives from their own department to congratulate them means a lot to the cadets, will send a page out informing of Graduations in the future. Ruling made by Parliamentarian New Business: Motion: L.Smith 2nd J.Hill to send J.M.Carilli as Delagate and E.Elkins as Alternate for Convention Motion: Carried Swift water Training sign-up on the board, please get fitted for booties, and bring a swift water vest with you, and 2 carabineers, equipment is on Dive Vehicle Deadline for sign-up is August 20,2011 9:00 A.M. if you do not sign up by then you will not be able to go. Motion: L.Bragdon 2nd J.Hill to give Carol Aubin $111.00 for gathering after Frank Spencer’s Funeral. Motion: Carried D.Lamore: is it possible for an ET to go to Orchard Hills and assist D.Lamore with taking down the flag pole for repairs L.Bragdon: will give D.Lamore’s name to Public Works to see if they can assist J.M.Carilli: Reminder: there is no sleeping in the day room as well as no food or drinks in day room or watch room If you use the Kitchen clean up after yourselves L.Bragdon: TV’s are to stay where they are do not move them, clean up the kitchen when you are done, do not leave it for someone else If you sleep in the Bunk Rooms make your beds when you are done D.Taber: House Rules advise no sleeping in Day Room L.Bragdon: Ruling from now on is there is to be NO sleeping in Day Room E.Proulx: bike and skateboard rail abandoned outside should be donated to Junior tag sale. D.Hoffman: Tom Dillon will be here Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. to do fittings for EMS boots Junior Tag Sale is Saturday August 20, 2011 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
