Following months of waiting, then a delayed release date, then a couple more months of waiting, it’s finally happening:?The Nike What the LeBron 11 release date is set for tomorrow, September 13.The most visually-striking LeBron 11 to date — most visually-striking LeBron, period? — the “What the” XI conflates design elements of eight previous LBJ signature models and the graphics, colors and patterns from 20 previous colorways into a singular pair of shoes. The result is an absolute masterpiece of stunning aesthetics and visual storytelling, celebrating LeBron’s career so far, as his basketball life enters its next phase. The shoe will hit select Nike Basketball accounts Saturday, September 13. It looks like the production run is a little bigger than usual, so supply should be a tick higher, although a near-instant sellout still seems pretty likely. Plan accordingly.Online accounts will stock the shoe beginning at 8am EDT, said accounts including Nike.com and the Eastbay/Footlocker family of websites. Well . . . OK. Will do.An ideal summer style, in terms of looks and comfort, the shoe sports a slimmer, lower silhouette than the usual LeBron XI, forgoing the Hyperposite piecing in favor of more breathable mesh inlaid against Hyperfuse on the upper. Those materials mix black and teal, yielding a perfect contrast that’s simultaneously tropical and neutral, tilted a bit more toward the former thanks to pinkish-red accents. Finally, a full-length Max Air midsole cushions the foot, adding the comfort that’s all too crucial during the easy summer months. No release is on the books yet, but it won’t be long. Stay tuned for updates.Nike Air Max LeBron 11 LowTurbo Green/Nightshade-Glacier Ice-Laser CrimsonStyle #: 642849-300Summer 2014$170Images via Hoop City.Previous story Nike Free Trainer 5.0 CAMO PackNext story Nike Air Tech Challenge II Turbo Green | Hitting RetailersRelated PostsNike LeBron 11 Low CHINA Release 9/25September 25, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low CHINA | Official Photos as Release NearsSeptember 22, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low BISCAYNE Release 9/6September 5, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low BISCAYNE Release Info, Official PhotosSeptember 2, 2014FacebookSearch NikeBlog.comRecent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!Recent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!MIssionTo provide the most up to date news, images, and opinions on today's top sneaker company.FIND ARTICLESHomeAboutAdvertise on NBContactPrivacyTwitterFacebookRSSNikeBlog.com is not affiliated with the Nike, Inc. brand in any way, shape, or form. Nike Air Max LeBron VII White/Black-GoldAs we all know, pictures of the Zoom LeBron VII (although due to the Air Max unit rather than Zoom Air we’re assuming it’s the Air Max LeBron VII) have popped up over the last couple of months to pretty mediocre fanfare. Well perhaps these new pictures will change that. We now have glimpses of a couple of colorways and thankfully they’re not triple blacks, meaning we can get a good look at the details of the shoe.As has tended to be the case with the LeBrons, we can see a pretty clear evolution from the past models. The Air Max LeBron VII again incorporates that same patent leather on the toe and sides, although this time they mercifully get rid of the strap. Again we see a lot of flywire through the side panels as well as a full length air unit, this time Air Max rather than Zoom. The colorways all look pretty fly so far (except that triple black, but that doesn’t look good on any shoe); the white/black-gold is pretty similar to one of the flagship Zoom LeBron VI from a year ago and it again looks pretty dope. The black/black-green is a pretty nice look as far as all-black shoes go; the green outsole and air unit creates a nice contrast. And finally the white/red is really nice in that it incorporates all the aspects of the LeBron VII plus it puts a layer of that woven material we’ve been seeing on everything from Dunks to AF1’s lately. The word is that we’re still looking at an October 2009 release date. Important to keep in mind, however, is that this is still a preview model and small or significant design aspects can still change.
