LeBron James capped off a pretty incredible year in his career today, following up June’s NBA Championship with another Olympic gold medal, and he did it in the upcoming Nike LeBron X.The LeBron X is inspired, both aesthetically and metaphorically, by the diamond, a precious and nearly indestructible gemstone. The shoe is engineered to prioritize responsiveness, impact protection and dynamic containment, all required for LeBron’s unique skillset.Combining four of Nike’s most innovative technologies, the LeBron X features dynamic Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction, Nike Plus functionality (though there will also be a non-Plus model) and the first full-length visible Zoom Air unit.At the moment, we know of a Nike LeBron X release date on 1/1/13 and one on 2/15/13, but that’s just two colorways; stay tuned for news on a possible late-2012 release. Retail is set at $180, a $10 increase from the LeBron 9, with the Nike Basketball model running $315.

(Which is to say, this is not a white shoe.) Red accents then pop on the laces and fireworks-printed midfoot-plate, before a gum outsole beautifully completes the palette and makes us wish all LeBron 11s featured the sartorially timeless sole.Stay tuned for further info, but details as they now stand are below.Nike LeBron 11“USA”/”Independence Day”Style #: 616175-1644 July 2014$200Photos via Hupu.Previous story Nike Air Tech Challenge II Burgundy | Fall 2014Next story Hugo the Hornet Shows off his Air Jordan 11 ConcordsRelated PostsNike LeBron 11 Low BISCAYNE Release Info, Official PhotosSeptember 2, 2014Nike LeBron 11 MAISON DU LEBRON | Devil’s in the DetailsAugust 20, 2014Nike LeBron 11 Low BISCAYNE Release Date, PhotosAugust 19, 2014Nike Maison Du LeBron Collection | Release Info, Official PhotosAugust 18, 2014FacebookSearch NikeBlog.comRecent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!Recent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!MIssionTo provide the most up to date news, images, and opinions on today's top sneaker company.FIND ARTICLESHomeAboutAdvertise on NBContactPrivacyTwitterFacebookRSSNikeBlog.com is not affiliated with the Nike, Inc. brand in any way, shape, or form.
