With the Nike LeBron X Denim release date finally almost upon us — it’s set for Saturday, June 22nd — today we bring you one of the last (and best) previews of the shoe.An ultra-premium style, the familiar X upper is draped in one-piece dark denim, contrasted by pink on the Flywire-eyelets and midsole, and sitting on a translucent icy outsole.Adding to the luxe image is the tongue and inner-lining, both of which are comprised of buttery brown leather, offering comfort and a fashion-forward look.Retail is $180, and an instant-sellout is a mortal lock everywhere the shoe is sold. Photos via Social Status and, if you’re near their Charlotte or Pittsburgh locations, you may want to drop by this week; their blog post certainly makes it sound like they’re already selling their pairs.Nike LeBron X EXT Denim QSMidnight Navy/Midnight Navy-Hazelnut-FireberryStyle #: 597806-40022 June 2013$180

It appears that the University of Kentucky, University of Miami and Ohio State University basketball programs have agreed to wear LeBron James-branded Nike gear (tOSU has had LeBron-ish logos on their uniforms already), an arrangement similar to Jordan Brand-outfitted schools like North Carolina, Marquette, Cal and Georgetown. No official word on the partnerships yet from any of the schools involved or Nike, but expect to see LeBron logos and shoes on courts in the ACC, Big 10 and SEC next season.Previous story Nike SB Kobe x Koston General Release DateNext story Nike SB Dunk Low – Grit 2.0Related PostsThe Year in Nike Films | 10 Best Swoosh AdsDecember 30, 2014Watch: LeBron James Talks Signature ShoesDecember 2, 2014Watch: LeBron James ‘Together’ Ad Celebrates Cleveland UnityOctober 30, 2014Watch: Sprite Imagines “LeBron James’ First Home Game”October 28, 2014Juan E Perez:2011/10/19 at 4:33 pmIs it too much to ask to see the UK Uniforms?Kaluuk RA:2011/08/06 at 8:48 pmI SEE YA KING JAMES. We haven’t covered any sneaker/Nike-inspired art for a while, so today we turn again to our boy Keoni Block of Kreating the Beast Design Group, last featured on Nikeblog with his War of the Worlds series, and a previous collaborator with names like Nike, Bleacher Report and Terrell Suggs.KTB’s latest series is entitled “TWO by 6,” celebrating two consecutive championships by number six himself, LeBron James. The series’ title piece features TWO BY 6 scrawled in graffiti-style script ostensibly comprised of the NBA’s Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. The other four pieces, meanwhile, incorporate LeBron James’s latest signature shoe, two each of the “King’s Pride” edition and the “Away” edition. Check out each print below, and hit up Kreating the Beast on Twitter to see some other work.
