But the standard LeBron X’s are far from over, with one of the best colorways of all still around the corner. The Nike LeBron X Pure Platinum release date is set for this Saturday, May 4, about as eye-popping a colorway as there is. The shoe’s silver upper goes so metallic it’s iridescent, with various shades of pink and green appearing as the light shifts. Solid black then contrasts on the midsole, while turquoise finishes the shoe on the outsole and inner-lining.Nike LeBron XPure Platinum/Black-Sport TurquoiseStyle #: 541100-0084 May 2013$180#gallery-1 {margin: auto;}#gallery-1 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-1 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-1 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */Photos via atljerseys.Previous story Nike Kobe 8 SKYLAR DIGGINS PENext story Nike Elite Tape | New Take on a Classic ModelRelated PostsWatch: DJ Qualls and his “$5000” LeBron XFebruary 26, 2014Nike LeBron X Low REPTILE Releases in Two DaysOctober 8, 2013Nike LeBron X Low REPTILE Release DateOctober 1, 2013Honey Nut Cheerios x Nike LeBron X MUST BE THE HONEYSeptember 3, 2013FacebookSearch NikeBlog.comRecent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!Recent PostsNew Nike Football Cleat Types Bring Speed to Every PositionNike LeBron 12 “Akron” PE is StunningNike Free Flyknit Hot Lava | Latest Flyknit Model Finally DropsThe Statuesque Air Jordan 9 “Militia Green”Nike Air Max NM Red/Black | Hideo’s Heat Returns!MIssionTo provide the most up to date news, images, and opinions on today's top sneaker company.FIND ARTICLESHomeAboutAdvertise on NBContactPrivacyTwitterFacebookRSSNikeBlog.com is not affiliated with the Nike, Inc. brand in any way, shape, or form. The Nike LeBron 11 was officially unveiled by Nike today and as we expected, from a performance standpoint, it’s one of the most impressively innovative basketball shoes ever.Created with a duality of purpose in mind, the shoe is meant to deliver a lightweight ride — in fact it’s LeBron’s lightest signature model to date — as well as fully protective, responsive fit.The 14.5-ounce shoe starts with a Nike Hyperposite (previously dubbed “Armorposite”) upper, a lightweight derivative of Foamposite that protects and contains while moving with the foot to offer superlative responsiveness. That Hyperposite lies against Hyperfuse construction and Dynamic Flywire reinforcement, locking down the foot while still allowing for the foot’s natural motion. Finally, beneath that cutting edge upper, the midsole sports full-length Zoom Air cushioning, further supplemented by Lunarlon foam, offering the height of springy, responsive impact protection.Beyond the performance-driven construction of the shoe, Nike’s design team also kept a keen eye toward an overall aesthetic inspiration for the shoe and its colorways — duality of the number 11. For example, the sockliner reads “LeBron” from one direction but, when flipped upside down, reads “James.”The Nike LeBron 11 release date is set for October 12 globally in the “King’s Pride” edition (the Parachute Gold pair we’ve seen several times). Meanwhile, the special LeBron 11 Terracotta Warrior releases October 1 in Greater China and November 27 in the rest of the world. Stay tuned for a look at that colorway later today.
LeBron James capped off a pretty incredible year in his career today, following up June’s NBA Championship with another Olympic gold medal, and he did it in the upcoming Nike LeBron X.The LeBron X is inspired, both aesthetically and metaphorically, by the diamond, a precious and nearly indestructible gemstone. The shoe is engineered to prioritize responsiveness, impact protection and dynamic containment, all required for LeBron’s unique skillset.Combining four of Nike’s most innovative technologies, the LeBron X features dynamic Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction, Nike Plus functionality (though there will also be a non-Plus model) and the first full-length visible Zoom Air unit.At the moment, we know of a Nike LeBron X release date on 1/1/13 and one on 2/15/13, but that’s just two colorways; stay tuned for news on a possible late-2012 release. Retail is set at $180, a $10 increase from the LeBron 9, with the Nike Basketball model running $315.
