The Nike LeBron 11 Maison du LeBron releases this weekend, one-third of a stunning collection of LBJ’s still-current signature model — in its lowtop, mid and Elite iterations — that celebrate “The House of LeBron.” Today, a detailed look at that mid.And I do mean detailed, as the latest set of photos puts an emphasis on the intricate details of the stunningly stylish shoe, from the tonal striping (with reflective finish) and grey-to-volt gradient fade, to the subtle speckling on the branding and midfoot, to the “La Maison du LeBron” crest on each insole. Also note the clean, icy outsole, a switch from the gum bottoms with which earlier samples were pictured?and, as far as I can see, a switch for the better. The Maison du LeBron 11 releases Saturday, August 23, alongside the Low and Elite editions. The Miami Floridians were a pro basketball franchise in the ABA, now long defunct following a brief, seven-year existence in several different incarnations in the late-60s and early-70s. It’s safe to say they had officially fallen victim to time and memory, having been remembered mostly, when at all, for winning few games and playing many of their home matches in an aircraft hangar with no air conditioning, meaning the facility’s doors were often open during games to welcome in game-changing ocean breezes.Today however, they again possess a modicum of fame with basketball fans, who now know them as the team that inspired the Miami Heat’s occasional “Floridans” throwback uniforms and, moreover, a near-annual edition of LeBron’s current-at-the-time signature shoe. Today we get another look at this year’s take on the latter, the Nike LeBron 11 Low Floridians.Mixing the tropical style of the Floridians uniforms, the shoe sports orange throughout the sleek, Posite-less upper of the lowtop XI, with occasional pink accents and a speckled grey midsole offering contrast. Not just a throwback-matching homage, the Floridians‘ soft orange upper is a perfect shoe for the summer, fitting, in that it hits retailers June 14.Updates as they develop.Photos via SG.
