Remember the Nike LeBron 11 EXT King’s Crown release date that, last week, we announced was set for Friday, July 4? Well, we stand by it. Today Foot Locker announced they too will stock the eye-popping shoe, alternately known as the LeBron 11 EXT Crown Jewel, on Independence Day.As a brief refresher, the latest Nike Sportswear-designed colorway of LBJ’s on-court shoe redefines the word “conspicuous,” as metallic iridescent piecing is set against premium black molded suede on the upper for striking, contrast-heavy good looks. A black leather tongue and icy blue outsole meanwhile round out the shoe, adding an extra pop of high-fashion styling.Grab ’em in mere days, with Foot Locker’s House of Hoops locations doing the ticketed raffle system to distribute their pairs. Is this one of the XI’s best looks?Nike LeBron 11 EXT QS“King’s Crown”Style #: 677693-0014 July 2014$250
An homage to the world famous wetlands that cover much of the state LeBron James currently calls home, the Nike LeBron 11 Everglades releases this weekend, equal parts artistic élan and basketball-driven fashion.Rather than colors and color-blocking that vaguely evoke images of a concept, that often being the storytelling tool utilized in sneaker designs, the “Everglades” XI is much more overt. A solid black shoe is sharply and colorfully contrasted by oranges, greens and yellows on the ‘Posite piecing, styled into an art print that directly, abstractly mimics the plant life of the Everglades. You’re basically wearing the ecosystem on each foot.Silver branding and liner further contrast, while a translucent outsole both adds a sort of “water” aesthetic and . . . well, just looks good.Grab a pair on Saturday, May 17, barring any delays, with retail set for $200.Nike LeBron 11Black/Metallic Silver-Wolf Grey-Atomic MintStyle #: 616175-00617 May 2014$200Photos via Footaction.
